GOODE BEACH HOUSE

Located on a spectacular elevated site on the vancouver peninsular, this home will be constructed to flame-zone requirements to address heavily treed and sloping neighbouring properties.

A northerly orientated living, eating and cooking pavilion will address the prime views and invite the winter sun deep into the floor plate. Sleeping and services are allocated to a second wing that is perpendicular to the first and cranked slightly to form the main entrance.

A robust and fire resistant pallet of exterior materials will be contrasted with the warmth of timber internally. Utilities self sufficiency will be assisted by a solar array and rainwater storage tanks, whilst a concealed 40,000L water supply, diesel firefighting pump and fire shutters to windows will enable the owner stay and defend their property in the event of a fire.
